New York’s Renovated Lincoln Center

Like this article?

New York’s Lincoln Center kicked off a $1.2 billion modernization last month with the debut of the renovated Alice Tully Hall. Designed by Diller Scofidio + Renfro in association with FXFowle Architects, the space, which hosts chamber-music and jazz concerts as well as film screenings, now has a 6,161-square-foot, glass-enclosed outer lobby with a café-bar open until 11 p.m.; sound design by acoustics consulting firm JaffeHolden; and 1,088 seats. Don’t miss the eclectic series of concerts—ranging from the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen to composer Steve Reich—that is inaugurating the reopening (through March 8).
